As maintainers of an open-source project, we consider usage rates crucial for understanding the impact and success of our project. We are always thrilled to see an increase in usage: it is a testament to the hard work we've put into the project. So, how was this year for Allure Report?
Allure Report is an open-source lightweight multi-language test report tool maintained by Qameta Software.
The big numbers
First things first: please keep in mind that our usage statistics are only based on users who make reports on open networks and share data anonymously. That being said, we do think that the numbers are interesting, so let's dive into them!
20 million users with 24 sessions per user on average - not bad at all! And what's important, the increase in 2022 has been much more steady than in the previous year:
Day-by-day usage
From January 7, 2022 to January 11, 2023, the number of daily users has increased from 344k to 536k. That's 56% growth! And there's something else to note here. The weekly bumps that you can see all over the graph are fairly small, which means weekends are almost as busy as workdays. This most likely means automated report generation - which is exactly how we like it!
Returning users
Of all the users we've had in November, 84% came back in December. This is good: if people try Report, they tend to stay with it. And it is those people who generate the most reports: during 2022, 96% of all sessions were started by returning visitors.
